Tom rode for Tammy back when he was still racing, or as he likes to refer to the years as, "the olden days" when in fact it was only a few years back. Tammy's dog Jenny, is a Golden Retriever. "This is one of two of the paintings Tom was commissioned to do. Tom used to run into this couple, Sharon and Russell Zimmerman and they had told Tom of their pets, who at the time these paintings were done, they were between 18 and 20 years old. The Zimmermans pets all died within months of each other, at ripe old ages, after having a good long life with Sharon and Russ (their parents). The Zimmerman's had their portraits done to immortalize them for all time, and they are captured beautifully here. The original is 16 X 12 and it was done in oil." |
