"This painting shows the sheer excitement of these young horses as they enjoy the winters' first snow. One of the funniest things to watch is a yearling experiencing snow for the first time. This painting will be available soon in Giclee print"

 

"I did this painting of a foal with her head cocked slightly to demonstrate the curiosity of a young foal. I did it as a quick draw. A quick draw is when you determine a preset time that you allow yourself to spend on a painting and when you reach that time, the painting is done I allowed myself one hour to do this painting. The reason I do quick draws is to teach myself to focus on what is important in the painting and get it down quickly. It usually results in the looser style with more energy."

"Watching a Thoroughbred stud run, and frolic in an open field is an event worth watching. Their bodies so huge in size, carried by such frail, thin, even toothpick-like legs is quite remarkable in, and of itself. But, to watch these creatures run, and play. . . .well it is something special. It truly is Grace in Motion."

 

"I wanted to show a Thoroughbred stud running under the last light of day in this painting.  I've blurred the background to bring out the movement of the horse."

"This scene depicts the dead of winter in Kentucky. The painting shows the curious nature of horses. I believe they check us out as much as we do them." Also available in GICLEE PRINT

 

Where I'd Love To Live

"This is a painting of Glacier National Park in Montana about 40 miles from where I grew up. We rode snow mobiles in winter, and motorcycles in the summer. I originally painted just the landscape. It was missing something, so I put a small herd of mares, and foals in it. It is the kind of place where I'd love to live."

 

"I did this painting with a palette knife instead brushes to add energy, and spontenaity. I just wanted to show a horse in the ocean, and thought that the pose would be interesting. The title of the painting shows my weird sense of humor."
