Katherine has been a strong source of support, and influential in her husband, Tom Chapman's, career choice, to take up his childhood hobby of painting once again. She saw the everyday wear, and tear, and stress that horseracing put on her husband. Being interested in poetry, and music her whole life, Katherine knew how therapeutic artistic endeavors could be.

A full time wife, and mother since 1975. Katherine finds, since their three sons, Matt, Luke, and Daniel have gotten older, she has more time to pursue her own interests in poetry. Her poems are usually expressed through her own life experiences. Her passion is sincere..

Fall Has Come

A touch of fog is in the sky.
Orange pumpkins smell so fine.
Colorful costumes walk the streets.

Fall is in the air.
Fall is in the air.

Healthy trees lose their leaves.
It's fun to pick them up and run.
Listen and hear the call of the wind.

Fall is in the air.
Fall is in the air.

They blow so fast and then look so calm.
Here flies one, right by my shoe.
I love to smash them under my feet.

Fall has come.
Fall has come.

God And The Wind (11856 bytes)

God And The Wind

The earth reflects the beauty of God.

All mountains show His might.

He has created the Lilies of the Valley.

Have you heard winds dance and sing?

A strong force flows down the clouds.

Windy skies send out loud whistles.

Children are playing with spinning balls.

Rainbows are waiting in the clouds.

Our God is sending us drops of tears.

If you believe in the wind,

Why not believe in God?

We can see the effects of the wind,

Why don’t we see the same with God?

If you believe in the wind,

Then why don’t you believe in God?

If the wind can be felt but not seen,

Why not God?

God's Rain and Sun are Forever

The rain and sun bring nourishment.

Strong storms give us water.

Colorful rainbows keep God’s promise.

Flying birds feed on their flowers.

Buzzing bees give us honey.

Green grass grows taller.

Trees lose their leaves

The rain and sun are forever.

God's rain and sun are forever

Oh, Just One Kind Spirit (11856 bytes)

Oh, Just One Kind Spirit

I have a deep, dark, and troubled spirit.
I’m hungry for love.

I’m searching every mountain high and low.

Straight ahead, look; can you see my fountain of youth?

Will I fit in today?

My heart and soul are crying for relief.

Please, if there is just one kind spirit, will you touch my flesh?

Oh God, will you enter my broken down vessel?

Oh, just one kind spirit, I can feel you entering me.

The earth is moving; I’m floating in the heavens with God!

The two of us are bonded together and all it took was just one kind spirit.

Thank you for caring about my troubled heart.

Eternity is ours my one true friend.

Today and forever we are soul mates.

God has blessed me and all it took was one kind spirit.

Quiet Times

The echo of my voice

The smooth touch of blue Silk

Freshly baked cookies
Brewed tea flavored with lemon

A good cry over a lost love.
Oil paintings gleaming in the light

Music being played softly
A young child reading silently

Napping under my soft quilt

Daydreaming, holding hands by the surf

Campfires, smores, and goodnight.

Love_Is (13263 bytes)

Love Is

Our sunshine after the rain

My heart feeling your pain.

Saying we're sorry with tears.

Staying close through real hard years.

Sharing deep thoughts in our special way.

Growing more deeply with each passing day.

Meeting each other half way there.

Not taking for granted the love that we share.

Always good night with love in our hearts.

Making it work until death do us part.

Hand in Hand

My heart touches your lonely space.
Sad tears I wipe from your delicate face.

Sad hearts are dancing on the moon.

Ruby red lips will be with you soon.

Laughing hearts fly through the air.

Hands reach for mine and give me care.

A special perfume draws me near.

His soft voice calms my fear.

We fly high and touch our favorite star.

Visions we see from very far.

Hand in hand together we stand.

We'll fight for our love all through God's land.

Troubles and heartaches will come our way.

Let's get on our knees and remember to pray.

God come to our home and stay.

Peace and love be with us each day.

Gods Forever Love (12856 bytes)

God's Forever Love

"Many friends will come and go.

Sad inner feelings make me low.

I want a special someone.

God's forever love will come.

There's so much I need to say.
Please listen to me pray.

Comfort my empty heart.

Let us never drift apart.

Deep loneliness I always feel.

Will any of my dreams ever be real?

I'm fighting hard to fulfill my life.
><br>
God give me faith and end my strife.<br><img src=
Give me faith and help me strive!

I'm The Big 2

So innocent and full of life.

Filling up a dream with a learning heart.

Repeating and repeating, "Give me my ball".

Jumping to the moon is all so fun.

Happy, happy then sad. Sad, sad then glad.

Tired, tired then a pistol full of life.

Every day is a great challenge full of excitement.

I'm 2 and I'm going to chase my dreams.

I'm 2 and I will conquer,

And yes I will win.

Our baby's first heart beat.

Our baby's first kick.

Our baby's first slap.

Our baby's first cry.

Our baby's first drink from Mommy's breast.

Our baby's first diaper change.

Our baby's first visitors at home.

I Brought Flowers to Your Grave

My dearest loved one, I brought you fresh flowers yesterday.

I can not tell a lie. My heart felt so sad, all I could do was cry.

The tears fell like rain. How I wish we could talk, I have so much to say.

I brought flowers to your grave the other day.

Those beautiful flowers have all wilted away.

The sun shines so bright and your memory will always stay.

I've got to go on without you. Lord knows I've tried not to be so sad.

It's time to go on without you. It's time to let you die. I promise I won't lie.

Though the flowers fade away, your memory will always stay.

Until I meet with you at that place, my soul and spirit can't wait to see your face.
