"This is Sea of Secrets and this piece is 11 x 14". Tom did it as a demo piece for the Society of Western Artists located in California. Because of the fact it was a demo piece Tom is only asking $350 for it. Definitely a bargain price for the work!"

Russell Baze (712089 bytes)

Russell Baze
"Russell Baze is nothing if not consistent. In 1998 he rode 400 winners for the seventh consecutive year, a feat that no other rider has come close to matching. Through Oct. 21, 2004 he ranked 21st nationally in purses with $6,128,929. Russell hails from a huge family of horsemen: His father, Joe, was a jockey before becoming a trainer; his younger brother recently quit riding and is now exercising horses; a cousin, two second cousins still are riders. There also are lots of uncles and cousins working on gates, shoeing horses, training horses. Although born in Canada, Baze is the son of two American citizens and is an American by birth; at the time he was born, his father was riding at Exhibition Park. Baze began riding at Yakima Meadows in 1974. His first winner, Oregon Warrior, was trained by his father. Russell currently ranks fourth on the all-time win list behind Laffit Pincay Jr., the late Bill Shoemaker, and Pat Day, as he quickly approaches the 8,500 win mark."

"People called him Big Red, or Destroyer. These were among his titles. A destroyer of records. Since his hay days of 1973, we have not seen his equal in smashing records. He's best known for his Triple Crown triumph. But more specifically, his Belmont win. He won that one by 31 lengths. He is the only horse in history to complete the Belmonts 1 1/2 mile by such a wide margin. He broke that track record by knocking 2 3/5 seconds off the old record. To finish in 2.24. This painting captures the likeness of the great Secretariat. The dark background makes the image stand out and almost come to life again as the Champion he once was."

Bold Badgett
" This is a painting Tom did on commission of one of the most popular sires alive today. He is Bold Badgett. A son of Damascus, His offspring have earned in excess of $6,933,410.00. From 133 of his offspring 101 of them are winners, and from those that have started, 17 of them have gone on to be stakes horses. That's one out of every five. There are few such as Bold Badgett, this champion sire never raced."

"Tom painted this after Favorite Trick went undefeated as a two year old, and became only the second two year old in history to be named "Horse of the Year".  The only other horse to date to receive this highly regarded honor,... was Secretariat."

Mr. Prospector

"Tom did this painting in the Summer of 1999 when he'd learned about the death of Mr. Prospector. He died at the ripe old age of 29 after getting over 40 mares in foal for the year. That is hard to believe. Most studs get pensioned before the age of 25, if they ever live to be that age. But not Mr. Prospector. He was still going strong right up until his death. He was a great racehorse, and has proven himself to be a great sire. The racing industry will miss this great champion. And,...so will we."

"This is a piece Tom painted featuring World Class Jockey, Pat Day aboard Unbridled Time. Tom captured the duo racing towards the wire, in a way so the painting over-emphasizes the background lighting. The dark bay colt blends into the black background, and the highlights on the horse, the blinkers (also referred to as a hood), and on the jockey really come alive to jolt the viewer. Tom is happy the way it almost jumps right off of the canvas."

Besides the work Tom does painting horses, he also can do portraits of you, or your children.

Daniel
"Here is an example of what Tom can do with a child's portrait. This is Toms newest son Daniel. Tom did this painting for his wife Katharine for a Christmas present in 2000. Something she'd been asking him to do for some time."
