This painting is a close cropped view of a Rainbow Lorikeet. They are part of the parrot family and about twice the size of a parakeet. The San Francisco Zoo used to have an enclosure where you could purchase a dixie cup of sugar water and walk inside the pen. The birds would fly down and sit on your arms, your head, and just about any other perch in order to get a few sips from the cup.
This painting is 12 x 12" and is done on gallery wrapped canvas. This canvas is painted on the edges and does not come with a frame.
