"This colt appears to be playing with his shadow or hasn't seen all this white stuff before, and got himself a very bright white Christmas! The perfect star on this colts forehead is significant, or symbolic of the night Jesus was born. This is a keeper. Tom once again captures the innocence of these youngsters playing in their first ground cover of snow! It's a joy to watch foals as they experience new things! "Tom has put his creative eye to good use here. The colors make this a very Christmassy piece indeed. Toms choice of color, light and shadow, make this splendid portrait dance with life. Tom's choice of subject was a keen one also, and this horse just makes one believe he could step right off of the card. Beautifully done work again by artist Tom Chapman! Note: the original 14" x 11" painting Tom did of this same image is titled, "Thoroughbred, Head Study," and of course the original painting is void of any print on the face.
